I noted in my book "Prudery and the War on Sex" that the women's rights movement of the 19th century divided into 2 strains: one focused on empowering women, the other on protecting them. Problem with the latter is that it was no different from those who wanted to deny women equality.

Ex: Puberty can occur at different ages, sometimes very early, or late, or not at all. Doctors can adjust this w/meds.
Does that mean those treated w/meds have not gone thru "biological" puberty???
NO, it means this aspect of their biology was medically adjusted due to health concerns.
