unrelated to the tweet but I've been wondering: How would you go about calculating a player's batting variance vs his OPS+? I'm thinking about Ian Happ and my anecdotal take that his hot/cold spells are among the most stratified for a player of his OPS+.

We loved s1 so much but it felt like they hid their best actors and gave a ton of screen time to some mehhhhh performances in S2. Steve Zahn was the absolute best though.
