It's core is strong but held back by poor optimization and lack of self confidence.

I'm let loose into a new area and forced to walk on a straight path and watch Palico / Lynian slapstick rather than just explore and look for monsters. I feel like I'm on a Zoo tour than roughing it in the Wilds.

Beginners don't CS, and/or forget to hold a button to recover frequently.

Otherwise it's more of a checklist of what mechanics are you using thoughtfully - guard thrust? CVO? Smart steer ender for grd control? Creeping edge? Vorpal traits? Concentration? Shields? etc. After that it's fg fundies.

I'll take that W, if you've heard of it at least. The last two years have taught me a lot about game dev, and I'm really happy to have finally published something. I still think there's a lot of work to do on it but I can't really complain about competition when we're just trying to be co-op hades.

Funny, I actually did the reverse of this and started my careeer in aerospace/military and now I'm in games.

A lot of it is very transferable, yes, but the work can indeed be soulsucking. I got 2 years into it and looked to move. I ended up at the automotive industry for 2 years before games.

Guy like me I would prefer a liveable minimum wage to not having a liveable minimum wage, but if that's met yeah I'd still want to make games instead of doing something else for more money
