All the information is on the task.
I'm told these might be of interest to some. Dead Can Dance, performing live at the Tower Ballroom in Birmingham, England, 6 August 1987.

Added a few more miles back today, despite the tummy still not being fully happy. Looks like I can probably squeeze in one more tomorrow morning before this atmospheric river begins to dump on us, as long as I start early enougzzzzz.... 🛌⛈️

Did you watch this week's #HardQuiz? Tom gave us a tiny peek behind the curtain when he held up one of his question cards right after delivering the pre-written joke on it. Yes, of *course*, the gag is pre-written, and it's even helpfully labeled "GAG."

From 25 years ago this month, a playlist from the short-lived but fondly-remembered "radiomontana" internet stream in November 2000, hosted on Live365. It played a tasty mix of eclectic pop, rock, progressive, and more from the '70s to the '00s, with a dose of wild tracks for spice (Will Powers!).

Five dentist visits in the past three days. Bills to match. Half my mouth still numb. Stomach churning with antibiotics. But barring any more emergencies, my next visit isn't until January 5. Despite the "realness" of this difficult week, the real work begins then. This calls for a celebration ride.

From 41 years ago tonight, the playlist from 9-10:30pm on WMHD Terre Haute for November 12, 1984. A seriously awesome mix (if I say so myself!) of new wave, eurosynth, and altpop that holds up remarkably well (again, if I say so myself!) with some wild cards to keep 'em guessing. Now *that's* radio!

And in an unexpected and unwelcome plot twist, the marathon session ended up doing only half the planned work, so I have to go back for more ... tomorrow at noon. Send nu-- no, send hugs. And maybe a nice large thick vanilla milkshake for tomorrow afternoon. 🍨
November 13, 2025 at 12:28 AM
Even though I'm still dealing with dental (and lots of other) crap, including a marathon drilling session coming up in 90 minutes, and with rain on the way, I got out there for what I could today. But it's really just an excuse to post a cute selfie in need of an attention. 😇

After spending most of the weekend in bed, I got out this morning and managed a house-minimum 20 miles with a little extra, a lot more than I expected, so that's good. And it gave me something to focus on ahead of this dentist visit ... for which I've shed the facial hair, so now you get twinky me.
November 11, 2025 at 8:00 PM
Yeah, I've been off the bike for the past 3 days, first time since ... well, I don't even want to look. My dental issues are hitting in a bad way and have put me under the weather; the news hasn't helped my mood either. "Emergency" appointment tomorrow PM; major work ahead. A photo from better days:

Add this to the list of unexpected Sister Sledge covers: The 5th Dimension's "Aquarius," from a 1975 appearance on Musical Chairs. Hang around for the surprise ending!
November 9, 2025 at 3:29 PM
Major blahs; not feeling at *all* like riding. So at least for now, I'm curling up with new-to-me Norwegian episodes of All Against 1, my top nerdy comfort game. When 9,000 plastic balls are dropped onto one of the steepest streets (12.5% grade) in Lillehammer, how many make it into the "garden"?
November 8, 2025 at 6:59 PM
In the world of #The1PercentClub, 30 on-air seconds usually are not 30 real seconds. An international investigation! 😆
(I'm not suggesting in any way that contestants in the studio don't get 30 actual seconds, just the editing for airtime.)
November 8, 2025 at 11:06 AM
What's this? A *daytime* ride?! Yeah, trying to flip back with the changing seasons. Plus, a good excuse to put on the DSSF rainbow jersey and go "in your face, St. George." Stayed mostly on trails, but lots of disapproving stares from scowling walkers who look like Fox News is too "woke" for them.
November 7, 2025 at 12:09 AM
From 37 years ago tonight, the 8-10pm playlist for "Nightwave 107" on WKPL Platteville WI. The greater Dubuque tri-state area was shaking in its boots! Kate Bush into The Sisters of Mercy (narrator: "It mostly worked") ... remember when small-town radio stations actually took chances?
November 6, 2025 at 6:28 PM
I'm having a shitty week, and since one of the best remedies is, as they say, "an attention," I give you a picture for #Thighsday, taken just now at mile 31 of tonight's chilly ride. 1 attention = 1 slightly happier ridewithchris. 😱😇

New St. George Utah mayor Jimmie Hughes wastes no time in taking off his nice-guy campaign mask and revealing his dangerously racist and classist true self. Still flummoxed that voters fell for his bullshit.

From 41 years ago today, the playlist from 8-10pm on WMHD Terre Haute for November 5, 1984. A lil' bit of new wave, a lil' bit of progressive, a lil' bit of album rock, a lil' bit of the Time Warp ... radio used to be so much *fun*!
November 5, 2025 at 9:04 AM
Amid all this celebration, I regret that St. George Utah has apparently bucked the trend, re-elected a Maga scream queen to City Council, and replaced a moderate and effective mayor with a Maga stooge. At least it reaffirms my current practice of assuming every rando I see here is a Nazi.
November 5, 2025 at 3:44 AM
If you're a registered voter in St. George Utah and haven't voted yet, please vote in person today for Michele Randall (mayor), and for Natalie Larsen and Jami Leavitt (city council). Just say no to Maga, no to Nazis, no to Tr*mp, and especially no to anti-vax anti-drag scream queen Michelle Tanner.

From 40 years ago tonight, the 9pm-midnight playlist on WISU Terre Haute for November 3, 1985. Special shout out to The Big Sound Authority, The Pale Fountains, and the Kane Gang, three mostly-forgotten sophistipop bands of the mid-1980s.
November 4, 2025 at 1:21 AM
It's 2:21 AM ... do you know where your cyclists are?
November 3, 2025 at 9:53 AM
From 39 years ago today, the 9pm-midnight playlist on WISU Terre Haute for November 2, 1986. Right from the opening aural assault of Psychic TV's cover of "Good Vibrations," now *that's* what I call awesome music! (And awesome radio, too.) 🎙️

✅ 12,000 miles in 2025.
✅ Bicycled through a time change.
At last checkpoint, I was 6 days behind last year's pace. But with a 1,276-mile October (my coping strategy -- needed lots of coping!), and with some creative accounting by starting just before midnight -- I'm now *equal* to last year's pace!

Called it. #EscapePerfecto has begun with a rerun of *Game 2* in Episode 110, aired 23-Mar-2024. So not only is it reruns, it's another mix-and-match compilation of games from various episodes. *yawn*
