My brother loves all the AI stuff and uses it all the time. He uses it at work. He used it to make this picture of his car doing a burnout in the parking lot of Casa Bonita.

The ethical implications do not bother him. He thinks I'm being a Luddite by refusing to use it.

More cool bacteria stuff from my microbiology class. This is two varieties of staph on mannitol salt agar.

The pink medium turns yellow if the bacteria can ferment mannitol.

I finished reading Libertad by Bessie Flores Zaldivar yesterday. It's the story of a young girl in Honduras as she tries to come to grips with being queer in a country beset by political upheaval. Just an incredible piece of writing. Timely and beautiful.

Five and a half years later, it finally caught me. First time ever.

No fever. Food still tastes like food. Just congested and vaguely sore throat from all the stuff dripping.

I barely feel sick, which makes needing to isolate and cancel plans feel even worse. What a stupid disease.

This guy worked Doordash for 10 hours and netted $215. Take out gas, taxes, and depreciation, and he probably earned less than $10/hour He currently has no other options.

The gig economy is a digital sweatshop.

Ugh, I hate knowing I'm going to have to deal with this on Halloween. I'll end up having to tell some drunk frat boy dressed like an ICE goon that I'm not taking him, and then I'll have to deal with drunken threats.

I made flank steak using the recipe from Emeril (the BAM guy) last night, and it was super delicious. I broiled it in the oven because I don't have a charcoal grill. Served with garlic mash and asparagus.

He's a better image. It took me forever to find what it's called (couldn't remember). You're making a tesselation pattern. Try taking this image and rotating it 45 degrees and then back to be able to see the lines. You're really close.

Maybe I'm thinking of it wrong, but wouldn't cubes end up looking like a Qbert board?
