A driver ran a red light and nearly hit a cyclist. This was all caught on video, including the color of the stoplights and license plate. Philadelphia police officer was unwilling to even take a report. No driver accountability unless someone gets hurt or killed? @bikeaction.org @bcgp.bsky.social

Not much bike parking in this area of Philly, 8th and Arch, but lots of car parking (surface lots and parking decks). There is a "NO BIKES ALLOWED" sign on the Parkway company parking lot fence, which seems like it would be a decent place to park a bike. Hopefully signs like this won't exist soon.

This new style of bike parking does not seem to be holding up well. The one on the left seems to have lost a security cover over its mounting bolts and was loose and wobbly. #Philly #bikeparking

I think these are former street parking meter poles repurposed into bicycle parking. I wonder if some simple improvements like drilling through the main pole (assuming it is not filled with concrete) and welding on some better connectors might be a worthwhile project for Philadelphia. #bikeparking
