Given all of the poor performance and mismanagement (which has happened under Taylor and not just McKnight's tenure, despite what Taylor likes to claim) it's unbelievable MCPS has come up with concepts of a plan for its regional program model and insists we should be ok with that.

Several of the bigger states are not surprising. But how does a geographically small state like Hawaii have a full-time legislature but Maryland doesn't?

In case you're wondering which 10 states have full-time legislatures they are:

- Hawaii
- Alaska
- New York
- Wisconsin
- Illinois
- Massachussetts
- Michigan
- California
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania

I firmly believe that state and local elected positions need to be full-time and funded and staffed as such. The current model of "part-time" state delegates, senators or #MCPS Board of Education members is horrible. It limits public office to those who can afford to take the financial hit.

The mall closest to me, Wheaton Mall, seriously needs a rethink. It's a great site and there's lots of opportunity but I don't think the mall has much of a strategy outside of the two anchor stores, Target and Costco, being very popular.

I was a Lakeforest Mall Rat growing up and I remember when CityPlace was the IT mall in MoCo. Admittedly, that was because I was attuned to both of those places having AMAZING arcades, which was what I loved about going to malls.
