There is NO coherent continuity through the Bond Films. The Craig era was a complete reset (except for the smart move of keeping Judi Dench around).
Toho figured this out years ago: every 10 years they reset Godzilla. Heck, we’ve got TWO different Godzilla franchises going at once at the moment.

I was watching a Bond movie the other night and Bond said something to Q about a Quartermaster and I thought "Has Q stood for Quartermaster this whole time and I'm only learning about it right now?! Does M stand for Minister?!"

Sounds good to me. I LIKE those little monsters!

I kinda dig this.

-Picking a style and sticking to it is considered more risky. No one will ever blame the failure of a game on the decision to make it look realistic, to make it look like every other game.
-Picking a style requires taste and vision… two elements that are not valued in the industry these days.

Several thoughts:
-Realism is easy to art direct. You don’t need much concept art if you can just go outside and take a picture of a fire hydrant rather than redesigning one.
-Producers feel more comfortable with realism because it’s easier to to be untrained and still have an opinion about it.

Graded on a curve is right! If someone can get it “for free”, they are perfectly happy to overlook so many deficiencies. How can one compete with a competitor who gets all the breaks while your work needs to be perfect?

I love this movie so much. There’s just a lot of great ideas in it that play out well, some fun characters (I’m looking at you Tetsuo and Xilien Leader) and the fat, glowing flying saucers rock. And of course KAIJU!
