Agree about a disabled person voting for cuts to disability benefits, but stop saying she is unelected. She was elected on the list system. If the result of the Hamilton by election is repeated at next year then more SNP MSPs will be elected on the basis of being elected through the list.

Many were cleared from inland areas to crofts at the coast to make way for sheep on good grazing land. This was largely in north west Highlands and Islands. The land owners wanted them for harvesting kelp which fetched a good price during wars with France. At this time they tried to stop emigration.

The Highland Clearances started at the end of the 18th century and they were preceded by lowland clearances. The first conflict was in Galloway in 1720’s. The Land owners enclosed fields for cattle. The people (the Levellers) pulled the stone dykes down in protest. The start of the land struggles.
