Wholeheartedly seconded. It’s so good. Dense and winding and satisfying.

Underrated comment.

Perfect supporting example: cell shading style from Red Steel 2, a Wii game released in 2010 that still holds up.

This is such a dumb f*cking idea on so many levels it *has* to be another tech grift, no? Like Solar Roadways on space steroids?

I’m sure it’s a difficult media balancing act, but it’s wild to see world leaders still taking meetings with Trump like he’s anything more than a sundowning fascist grifter.

I guess “sundowning fascist grifter with the nuclear launch codes” makes all the difference.

It was about “what parts of a creature’s nervous system do you have to remove before it will be incapable of saving itself?” (opting instead to merely twitch reactively)

The real analogy is somehow more chilling, and more apt.

Side note: every time someone brings up the “boiling frog” analogy I’m reminded that the original experimenters removed the frogs’ brains first. It wasn’t about “if you raise the heat slowly enough”

Is the angle of those intended to give vehicle front tires a bump that will steer them away from the bike lane as well?

I resent the very idea that universities would have to run marketing campaigns around the concept of “truth and knowledge and good and valuable, actually”, but I’ve been having similar thoughts lately, as the right wing does its best to fight science and truth on both social and financial fronts.

I humbly submit Gianmarco Soresi for that list.

We need very strong norms for people taking responsibility for what they generate + share, with or without AI tools

It should be considered rude to ask for someone's attention or effort if you yourself outsourced your thinking to an AI tool and did not critically evaluate the output
