Perfect supporting example: cell shading style from Red Steel 2, a Wii game released in 2010 that still holds up.

Currently rewatching A Crown of Candy from @dimension20.bsky.social and thinking about all the wildly improbable nat 20’s over the years and I’ve come to peace with something:
