not even a week after Sandwich Guy caught a federal felony assault charge for the use of a sandwich
“Federal prosecutors in D.C. have been instructed not to seek felony charges against people who are carrying rifles or shotguns in [DC], regardless of the strength of the evidence, according to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro and an email reviewed by [WaPo].” www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
Pirro’s office won’t pursue gun charges over carrying rifles, shotguns
A statement from Pirro on Tuesday said D.C.’s blanket prohibition on carrying shotguns or rifles “is clearly a violation of the Supreme Court’s holdings.”

JD Vance is a joke. Columbus is one of the safest major cities in the country. Yes, we have had a small uptick in youth violence since the pandemic began. It’s mostly kids stealing Kias up at Polaris.
City responds to Vice President Vance's comment about 'lawlessness' in Columbus
Vance named Columbus as one city where people may be worried to go downtown because of "lawlessness."

Seriously, is Rubio intentionally being ironic here?
We’ve lost all moral authority on freedom of speech and suppression of political opposition.

As my friend @joeauerbach.bsky.social put it, even if you make $500 million a year, you are closer to this, because you are spending some of your income on living expenses.

Well I guess this would be why they’re “protecting” federal buildings…
🚨 BREAKING: new video shows ICE is operating a detention facility on the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza, where people are being held for days or weeks at a time without showers, medication or a change of clothes, sleeping on the floor, and with minimal food and outside contact.

An Ohio Newsroom article from May, 2025.

"The federal government pays the (NW Ohio) regional jail $117 a night, plus the cost of transportation... That’s a good deal more than what the five local counties pay for bed space, according to Lucas County Sheriff Michael Navarre."
Ohio jails are helping Trump’s mission of mass deportation
More Ohio jails are entering into agreements with ICE to hold people who have been arrested for lacking legal status.

This makes ICE the largest federal law enforcement agency in the history of the republic. To put this in perspective, here are the sizes of other federal law enforcement agencies -

I can’t tell you how many times I have told people this. The Food Stamp program was created during the Great Depression not just to feed the hungry, but to help farmers get paid for the crops that people couldn’t afford. These programs still exist.
"More than 1.3 million Ohioans participated in SNAP during fiscal year 2024... about 12% of the state’s population..."

An Ohio Association of Foodbanks' survey revealed over 40% of food bank users had at least 1 person in their household under 18 years old; almost as many had a disabled person.
Their small farms helped stock food pantries. That program is going away. • Ohio Capital Journal
