20 years ago, I got a pair of these (admittedly expensive) wellington boots. They are still going strong and every time I wear them I marvel at how warm and comfortable they are compared to anything I’d worn before. Given how long they have lasted, it was money well spent and I recommend highly

Lots of medics on here and it feels like a safe space to ask an open question. I’ve always been struck by a paragraph in Atul Gawande’s book Being Mortal about the mindset/ sense of identity of Drs. I’ve often referred to it, but I’m really curious to hear reflections on his idea/statement.
