Retired. Proud grandfather. Positive. Hold contrarian views sometimes. CFC for life. Illustrator (mainly cartoons & caricatures). In the political wilderness so appreciate all opinions. No interest in the left or the right just how things are in my view.
Too surreal to ignore.....

While Glastonbury was this weekend awash with support for Palestine, there was little if any recognition of the 378 people massacred by those Palestinians of Hamas at the Nova music festival in Israel on October 7, 2023. I’ll never get my head around that #BringThemHomeNow

Trizia Fiorellino was a wonderful Chelsea supporter who started The Chelsea Supporters Group 20 years ago which is still helping supporters today. She tragically left us over 5 years ago. Happy heavenly birthday to her and she has probably started a CSG up there too 🙏💙

For 6 months, rejoiner types pushed a petition on rejoining the EU. In the end they only got 16,000 votes.

A few topics that UK voters care more about than EU membership:

Abolish the TV Licence (37k)
Limit sale of fireworks (87k)
Call a general election (3 Million)

Standing by Pegasus Bridge a few years ago. 81 years ago last night it was the first bridge taken, slowing down the Germans as the the D D day landings began. God Bless those Allied heroes who defeated Fascism 🙏

48 year old Stanley Matthews taking on 23 year old Eddie McCreadie at Stamford Bridge in front of over 66,000 in a second division promotion battle in 1963. Remember my Uncle telling me about this game and that Matthew's dribbling never faltered even if his pace had by then. Still wonderful to watch

54 years ago tonight went to the Bridge for my first European evening game. Huge crowd and one of the best atmospheres ever at SB. Amazing noise. Ossie back with his brace after his suspension. Win 4-0 (extra time) to claw back a 2-0 deficit from the 1st leg in Bruges. Golden era of CFC football 💙

Any manager that gets me feeling like it's a chore watching Chelsea is not the manager for me.

Never forget how Americans gave their lives to help us finish off Hitler, then the Marshall plan to help Europe rebuild and NATO to help secure Europe from the Soviet Union. But it's time for Europe to rely on the USA less.

Bought plenty of rosettes back then (still have a couple in my loft). My early days going to the Bridge were some of the happiest days of my life. Life that was much simpler too. I'd go back to them in a flash. But then who wouldn't want his boyhood back?
