He had a camera crew in tow (as well as a GoPro attached to his helmet) and the footage has now been edited into short promotional films for Lloyds Bank, which will be shown around the ad breaks during the Welsh wonderman’s valedictory event, the Tour of Britain.

They were travelling at around 20mph.

Despite the dramatic scenes as the fire brigade cut the roof off the car, there were no life-changing or life-threatening injuries. (2/2)

“Sgt Sturgess from our park police has been able to get some traffic police to attend on bikes to see if we can deter any anti-social behaviour or thefts." (3/4)

"A gang of youths on black e bikes, wearing black hoodies and balaclavas/face coverings have been plaguing both parks and in Teddington, people have had their bags snatched. Please, if you see this gang contact the police on 999 immediately.” (2/4)

The RPTTs are inclusive events - anyone with a just basic road bike can take part. They are incredibly popular with all sections of the cycling community, pose no harm to anyone, and we will continue to make the case that the events should be reinstated next year.

London Dynamo, which has been running the RPTTs for 15 years, does a risk assessment for the events in conjunction with Cycling Time Trials, and there have never been any serious safety-related incidents to our knowledge.
