Oh that's too cool! When my kids or friends call with incredible news, I will often respond w Congrats but also ask, "Are you more excited because it finally happened, or because you have suddenly realized that you could have caused it to happen anytime?" #itsbeenthereallalong

It is the realization that you've had that power all along is the real reason you are crying (and joy too:-)

To quote the wonderful Marianne Williamson; "Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us!" Or as Glenda put more poignantly to Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, "You've had the power all along!"
Congrats to you!!

A friend of mine reminded me once during finals week that when you step back look at the very large picture, we were blessed with this opportunity to be taking final exams. In many places, it is only an incomprehensible if not an impossible dream:-)

I won't get this perfectly correct but I think my parents paid around $275 for the entire set in 1965

We also had the good fortune to have a set at home. We were not a wealthy family but my parents understood what an investment like this would mean. They were sold door to door. I can at this very moment smell the new volumes as we opened the box and unwrapped the paper on each volume.

I can remember going into the school library for the first time each school year to see the brand new set waiting for us...and the reqt that all volumes had to be back in place before we could go back to class:-)

Go figure, we could have experts like Dr. Osterholm to lead us at the Federal Level... Who do we get? I'm guessing Ronald McDonald to be nominated next to the Cabinet leading public health...

Thank you...I recently retired from leading in public education. You were our go-to expert/resource during and coming out of COVID. So deeply appreciate your commitment to public health and safety.

No worry, all my best stuff is stolen...lol

Best strategy, (stolen from a number of graduate students completing their Dissertations); sit down at the keyboard as if you have a two-hour deadline today and simply begin writing. You'll have a draft completed and then have several no-pressure days to fine-tune before submission. A game changer.
