The inversions that week were stunning. Didn't see the lakes but the whole of the Eden valley was covered. The views coming off the North Pennines were amazing

He wasn't so impressed when it started to hail and the wind got up right on the tops 😃

The wind and temperature difference between the second summit of Bowscale and the extra 50m up to the top was really something. An extra 2.5 miles along the ridge and 150m more climbing would have been v silly. Blencathra will still be there next time

I once got kicked out of one side for being drunk. Walked across the road, ordered another 2 pints and told the landlord that the internal phone call he was getting was his other barman saying not to serve me. He answered, confirmed I was correct, and continued pouring the drinks... Also...
