Thanks for sharing. I’m a very late adopter of social media, but this is what I love about it. Sometimes, not frequently, you get a peek at the human condition from a complete stranger, and the feeling of connection is profound and beautiful.

People with British accents sound smart to Americans. It’s all perception.

I’m concerned.

I hope you’re right but I also never expected so many people to vote against their own self-interests. There’s no accounting for political tastes today.

Trump controls the data that would substantiate an economic slump. From firing the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics to defunding other data collection agencies, Trump is muddying the waters. Trump to voters: Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?

They KNOW we are stupid. Not you and I, of course, but the rest of the country.

Trump on coronavirus: ‘If we stop testing right now, we’d have very few cases, if any’. This is just a logical extension of that concept. Public health problems solved!

It seems you don’t need a question if your project generates a whole lot of data and costs a whole lot of money.

Hot chocolate float. My friend who worked at Carvel would make this for me. A cup of hot chocolate, made from powder, with a glob of soft serve vanilla floating on top, waiting for its melty demise. The best equivalent bliss I’ve encountered is sitting in a hot tub while it’s snowing.

Ironically, James Comey was one of the few members of Trump’s 1st administration to recommend Biden grant a preemptive pardon for Trump in 2021. So after demanding loyalty and finally receiving it, this is Comey’s reward! With friends like this, who needs enemies?

Finally, I’m currently on the job market, and would love to hear about any open faculty positions you have in your department!

I’m interested in tenure track positions both in the US and abroad.

Memento (2000). Technically, it’s only half eligible since B+W scenes alternate with color scenes, but it’s such an interesting and “memorable” flick that I thought it should be mentioned.

Sorry to be the grammar police, but the correct statement is “Bagel Bites bite”.

I don’t know what you expect her to do. The Republicans have the majority in Congress and they can deny any attempt to impeach him. Perhaps one R might join in a unified effort, but that’s far from likely, especially with a vengeful despot at the helm. How about a constructive suggestion?

Yeah, it is bleak, but thank you for talking about it. You’re doing a great job at raising consciousness, and that’s important.
