Let’s talk about +4 cations. Carbon and Silicon. They be RIPE for bondage. Carbon has millions of known compounds and therefore we have complex life. Silicon has thousands of known compounds and therefore we have complex minerals, like these absolute GEMS. #rocksky

The cliff dwellers built homes into the Moenkopi cliffs, working with the sandstone, not against it. Likely ancestors of the Hopi, they saw the land as a partner, not something to conquer. The respect & ingenuity has me still every time I think about it. It’s a history that deserves deep respect.🏜️
