But hey, cheers to being born during the most affluent time in human history.

You broke the climate, altered tax systems to help grow your wealth, and now openly celebrate with a glass of bubbles in a major newspaper.

That house they bought 30 years ago for 100k is now worth millions.

And when they bought that house an average income was around 30k.

So their house at the time was around 3 to 4 times a regular annual income.

I don't even need to do the maths for you here to highlight how fucked up this is.

So glad I've avoided that discourse. It's such a pleasurable show to watch. And it's so far from a mystery box show. I hate how people feel narrative is something to be "solved".

Yeah I'm watching this one with Anna. It's the first Gilligan show I've ever watched with her. She tapped out of BB early cause she found the tension too anxiety inducing. Pluribus is working well for her though. It's more like his xfiles stuff in tone. Really funny.

Cheers man! Yeah reckon you'll dig it for sure. The pacing is... let's just say deliberate. So maybe wait for a few more episodes in the bag before going. I'm loving the week to week drops but it's likely gonna move too slowly for lots of people.

Yeah it's definitely working on a stylized level similar to the end of breaking bad.

The details are head spinning too. Like this caller ID gag that was on screen for barely a second

This other reflection shot was ridiculous. Gotta find a gif of the whole thing.

Also, this reflection shot. C'mon man! Amazing. This is a crew with God tier skills.

Reminds me a bit of a similar genre of writing. The "I've never taken drugs before but heard psychedelics were medicine so here is my miraculous journey" story.

More overtly evangelical but equally superficial and lacking any investigation into issues, problems, challenges.

Also, there has been a weird breathless hype about Johnston's experiments over the past few days. Even he has been presenting this a some novel thing.

Except psychedelics are not new to Johnson. He's been talking about taking them for years.

This all reeks of a PR push for psychedelics/longevity.

I don't think I've ever used the word feckless before now...

Maybe in reverse at double speed.

But this is really the highlight. Late on Sunday night.

I've dug up some old cinema reels from 15 - 20 years ago. The kind of things we put on at the very end of a doof when things were real gonzo.

Every kind of content warning is at play here.
WTF: A psychedelic cinema flashback — Garden States: Regeneration
I remember seeing something strange at a party 20 years ago. What was that? Is this that? What am I watching? Sit back and take in Absurdist cinema for absurd times…
