A reminder not only of how broken the world is right now but also how it will not be fixed anytime soon as baby boomers are encouraged to celebrate their wealth accumulation at the cost of everyone else.

The details are head spinning too. Like this caller ID gag that was on screen for barely a second

This other reflection shot was ridiculous. Gotta find a gif of the whole thing.

Also, this reflection shot. C'mon man! Amazing. This is a crew with God tier skills.

Look, I'm in the bag for Pluribus. So I'm gonna be shouting this thing out as long as it keeps operating at such a high level.

Episode 3. What an incredible piece of film making.

Sorry, gonna nerd out for a sec.

Best split diopter shot I've seen in years. Take that DePalma!

If anyone still thinks psychedelics don't amplify pre-existing beliefs just look at the recent mushroom induced revelation of "don't die" billionaire Bryan Johnson. He hasn't been humbled, quite the opposite. His belief in life extension has been affirmed & his mission sounds even more evangelical.

Here we are. In a world where some would see ppl (all men btw) sitting quietly reading a book and immediately assume there is no way they are ACTUALLY READING! It must be some kind of pretentious virtue signalling. Elaborate performance art, staring at pages mindlessly for extended periods of time.

Great genre to dig into! You must watch these ones. Trust me!

Four random brilliant films that you should see.

TIL this famous image of brain activity on psilocybin vs placebo is not only a simplified "illustration" but it's also based on a 2mg dose of psilocybin. That's barely a microdose.

This bit in particular is probably the most succinct encapsulation of the problem with modern media.

The first couple of episodes of Pluribus are incredible. This is big, exciting, original storytelling, and it moves fast.

I'm totally on board.

But boy, does it trade in ALL of Vince Gilligan's goodwill cards to get there.

Let me explain.

I don't know if we're going to get a second season of The Lowdown but if we don't I can say this is a near perfect one season wonder.

A gorgeous final episode. An all time great Ethan Hawke performance. Just fantastic work all round. Highly recommend this one.

Here is a short video of a guy poking the world's largest spider web.

For your nightmares. You're welcome.

No writer working today better understands the dynamics of serialised television storytelling than Vince Gilligan.

So excited we are getting a new, original series from him starting this week.

Also, this analogy he uses to explain the process of writing is magnificent.

Just noticed an AI summary button at the head of some articles on Yahoo.

Seems only up on a few trite articles in the lifestyle section at the moment. Also, strangely, only on syndicated content and not native.

Wonder how long till this button is rolled out across the whole site?

For my nonAustralian followers here's an update from downunder politics.

Aus PM snapped wearing Joy Division t-shirt.

Opposition leader attacks him for insensitivity pointing out the name, "was taken from a wing of a Nazi concentration camp where Jewish women were forced into sexual slavery”.

Lifetime were making these Christmas movies way before AI came along so it's really hard to tell if there has been any change over the last few years.

But either way... Chef's kiss to the lifetime team.

Still thinking about this, days later. I feel this film captures something really important about how we live today. The way it depicts a disgruntlement and intolerance about living in a community with others is really profound.

Reading articles written by royals reporters sometimes feel like dispatches from a parallel dimension. This one is all about the severity and humiliation for this guy when he probably should be in jail, or at the very least be on trial. But sure, take away his title and boot him out of the mansion.

Just saw this slide in my feeds and I think it's a perfect encapsulation of why the Rotten Tomatoes algorithm is terrible and why Metacritic is so much better.

Note: Haven't seen the show. Don't care. Point is how different the calcs are based on same critical content.
