Yes: but the best way to achieve our climate goals is not to stop a method of hydrcarbon production, but to slow consumption. Otherwise it is simply blaming someone else for our own faults. The Minister knows that (I hope).

She gets it right all the time, Princess Anne...
Anne, Princess Royal of the United Kingdom has visited #Kyiv.

She has come to show support to those who suffer from the war.

Thank you!

This queue reminds me of Moscow, 1989...
As of September 28, 38% of Russia's primary oil refining capacity - equivalent to 338,000 tons per day - was out of operation.

Drone attacks that have struck more than two dozen major oil refineries in Russia since early August have driven the Russian fuel market into an unprecedented crisis.

Yes. Look at France.
An injection of fresh competition into Britain’s stale two-party system should be healthy. Voters have been badly served, and are seeking something better. But in practice it could make the country harder to govern
Is British politics broken? Its centre is cracking
The two traditional parties of government are under siege as never before

He is an idiot but many gullible people are taken in because they have heard of him.
Bleakly funny that Elon Musk‘s brain worms mean he is still invoking the idea of a “reasonable centre”. The reasonable centre who believe that inter-ethnic violence in the UK is inevitable, aye right.

The Met know how to do this. They are largely invisible unless demonstrators choose to use violence against, er, whatever. Also: by all means besmirch yourselves, but not our flags.
Sky News says police are "overwhelmed by the numbers". Met coped perfectly well with 2x as many at the pro-Gaza rally, 5x as many at the anti-Brexit march, and 15x as many at London Pride.

They're not overwhelmed by the numbers. They're overwhelmed by the ratio of violent thugs in those numbers.

I tend to think that the invasion will stop only when Putin is not in power any more. For whatever reason...
President Zelenskyy:

The Russian war machine will only stop when it runs out of fuel. And Putin will begin to stop it himself when he truly feels that the resources for war are running out.

Well-meaning, but futile. Putin does not need or want peace talks: he is the invader. He can create peace today by withdrawing.

I will sign the petition. Leave the Embroidery (Broderie) - not a tapestry - where it is. It is already damaged. There is a copy at Reading. This is not like moving a single Old Master oil painting. France and UK get on quite well without this. Look at the French paintings in the National Gallery.

Just to say that nothing will come of the meeting. Trump is not a serious politician - he is a showman and cheat - and let us hear about any agreement once it is made, not before. The US is not at war with Russia and therefore cannot reach an agreement with it.

There is an even better way to move on. We can not Rejoin now (the EU could not accept a bid from the UK in its current state); but the PM could properly take a lead by saying that Rejoin is a strategic goal.

Agreed. We are all living beyond our means, as we slow, and it is impossible for polticians to say so. That opens the door to populists, who have an easy answer; and it encourages people to say "tax the rich: they can pay!". Several failures of policy and behaviour coincide.
Surrey council still needs to provide social care and children's services etc... so let them make the political choice about what they need to pay for it.
