Ukraine must prevail in this war. The UK must not turn its back on international development. The US must not let Putin win.

We spoke to Ukraine’s politicians and governors who fight with their own grief to continue to be there for their country.

We have been so lucky and feel so fortunate to work with incredible people in an incredible Country. We are looking forward to sharing their stories with the UK.

We spoke to victims of war crimes committed by Putin’s Russia. Came face to face with evidence of war crimes.

We spoke to young people forced to flee their homes, not knowing if their families were safe.

We spoke to people, normal Ukrainians who were victims of air raids targeting civilians.

It is thanks to UK Foreign Aid and formerly programmes like USAID that have assisted in Ukraine changing how it helps its veterans and people. Mental health is now an important factor, as is the multi-disciplinary approach to trauma.

We visited the medical rehabilitation centres at Unbroken and Superhumans to see the groundbreaking advances in prosthetics. Drone warfare is having an inhumane impact with over 1300 amputees passing through just one of the specialist hospitals a year - record numbers with multiple amputations.

Last week I was lucky enough to visit Ukraine to create a documentary highlighting the impact of the conflict on the Ukrainian people, internally displaced people and veterans.

It was incredibly humbling to speak to so many people and hear their stories.

It was great to mentor and train so many great @libdems.org.uk teams from across the Country at the weekend. Some amazing people who have achieved so much at the General Election looking to repeat the success at the county elections in May. 🔸🔶🔸

Residents in #Didsbury have contacted me and Cllr John Leech asking us to urge Post Office Ltd to reconsider the decision to shortlist the Didsbury Village Post Office for closure. For many, it is not just a place to post parcels or buy stamps; it is a lifeline.

A 7:30am start to join #Manchester Council #Didsbury neighbourhood staff, GMP, and pupils from Cavendish Road Primary on Burton Road and Vicker Grove to help with the School Street for Road Safety Week. Pupils were great talking to parents and giving out leaflets they designed.

I wish we didn’t need them, but it was great to see how #Didsbury Mosque have come together to open a foodbank in West Didsbury. I enjoyed cutting the ribbon on the start of a project to help those in need. All referrals to foodbank@miconline.org.uk
