It remains a serious problem that the Cubs' nominal closer is a guy who pathologically can no longer miss bats. I think tonight probably needs to be seen as a tipping point. Role change at a minimum. IL stint possibly. This was a disaster.

Chicago Cubs stat of the day:
Bullpen ERA- 5.83
that is ranked 29th/30 teams...
Cubs are 1st in the Cent at 13-9 but this has been a glaring weakness so far. Maybe it gets better as the schedule gets easier, but it really doesn't seem remotely sustainable 21 games in.

Cubs gotta either DFA Nate Pearson or send him to Iowa. It is simply not tenable to throw him in as a reliever for any lead of any score. Try to fix it or move on, dude has basically 5 years of not playing well, eventually performance has to outweigh any dreamed-of potential
