I saw them in the round, April 1979, in Bloomington, Indiana. My image of Steve Howe shredding a nice hollow body electric. Anderson, Squire, White, and Wakeman were there.

I'm not the first photographer to make a pilgrimage to the spot from where Frank made his well-known and evocative image back in 1956.

Frank's View—taken from the ninth floor of the Hotel Finlen, Butte, Montana. A color photograph made from a hotel window: it shows buildings in Butte, Montana. I'm not the first photographer to make a pilgrimage to the spot from where Frank made his well-known and evocative image back in 1956. This capture was made sixty-nine years later. It's interesting to know that the quiet and unassuming image that Frank made, and chose for his book, The Americans, had such an impact on so many practitioners of the craft. World's Largest Cherry Pie

Roadside Display For a time, Charlevoix, Michigan, could boast that it was home of the largest cherry pie: 1976 to 1987. The local cement plant built the oven for the fourteen foot wide pie pan while cherry farmers supplied the ingredients. As the dates listed above suggest, a larger pie would come, and yet another. He got respect and good PR if not more we don’t know about. The images were awful to take in. From the WSJ…
