There is only one way to keep your data safe from prying eyes and that's not to have it in the cloud. Buy a NAS. Buy two. If it's stored online be prepared that politicians will want to look at it for "the good of the people" or some shit.

The key factor though is that Microsoft/Xbox is positioned to make bank through games. Consoles have never really been the money makers, it's the games that get sold on them.
AMD said the current gen has now shipped over 100 million and Xbox is positioned to put games on every single one of those.
