But there's been no demand for it. I cannot express myself as -me- in most bases/avatars on markets for VRC, because they're designed as a character first. Some, like Tokyozilla are fantastic at creating a design that reads like they could be anyone with modification and personalization

SL's development and market and focus on modifiable avatar bases that can be edited in-line with SL's own tools is what allows you also to create and develop a market for -clothing- and -accessories-. The sad reality is VRChat/Unity are just as capable and some avatars do have clothes and parts.

No, yeah, and not to even say one was better. I'd probably use SL more often these days outside of photo-taking if not for the fact that getting those nice visuals/experiences comes at having to have them at sub-20fps.

For all the issues VRChat has with user expression and the barriers to do so, there's nothing like being in a headset and being able to stand next to your friend and see their body language and sometimes even facial expressions react to the things you do yourself.

I've had my SL account for 20 years now and I really can't go back at all. I love SL, I love the modularity, the connections content creators have to support bases and the user freedom. I hate how it runs just as bad now as it did in 2005, I hate how uncanny canned looped animations are.

Have you actually played Marathon? It's convoluted doom-wad maps with terminals with text you can read. If you don't make the choice to read those terminals there is no delivery of any lore or plot or anything. It's not Half-Life.

The current state of the game is 10 years old, friendo. It's literally the only game of it's kind that is successful and still around. How's Division doing. How about Anthem. Every game that tried to take Destiny's spot failed.
