A look at the the MLP (multi-level perspective) graph (recommended by my pal) that shows transformation: landscape pressure, established systems, and niche innovations in protected spaces 🍰 Part of a 'graphs to stick on your wall' blog series ✍️
System change through multi-level perspectives - sticky graphs
Another stick graph - a framework showing how complex systems actually change through three interacting layers. It's messy, non-linear, and (but) useful for understanding system change.

I tried tracing where my stuff comes from. #IKEA plate, #Uniqlo trousers, etc - can't find much beyond "Made in X." The data exists. But connecting supply chains to consumers is still hard 🏭 🤔 Wild that this is still an issue.#supplychain #transparency 🔍 www.rhysthedavies.com/invisible-su...
Invisible supply chains and increasing need for data awareness
Through investigating my own everyday items, I thought about how deliberately invisible modern supply chains are, despite mounting consumer demand. The data exists, but connecting it to consumers…

An important aspect of the clinical role, as every supervisee unhappily learns, is how to impart unwelcome information.

Why can't we all be nice to each other? My grandma and I would say watching the news 👩‍🦳 I still don't really know - but I think it starts with honesty ❤️‍🩹 I wrote this blog almost two years ago about why honesty is important 🌟 It's not my best but I like it 🤷‍♂️

Speaking as a person who is not a scientist but loves science and holds it in very high regard I love love love this 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Read this.

In this political climate, it is our duty as scientists to collectively mobilize, reveal the deceit & the malicious misrepresentation of science happening here.

This is why we have op-eds, letters of dissent, petitions & public statements.

Scientists’ role in defending democracy
The United States’ democratic leadership, commitment to freedom of expression, and investment in the pursuit of knowledge have long enabled its preeminence in science and technology. Yet today we are ...

Individual climate action feels productive but distracts from the harder questions 🙋

Make good choices when you can, but we're wasting energy ( 😉 ) feeling bad about limited options instead of demanding better ones 🦺

Your climate guilt is bullsh*t
Talking about why your carbon footprint is less important and why you shouldn't care if you're taking a flight if you're doing something that actually matters.

A very hopeful take and an inspiring reframing. Plus 'There is no turning back; the challenge lies in moving forward wisely.' is a pretty nice line 🙏 😁

I would be interested in the authors' takes on the challenges they mention in the conclusion though 🤔

I've done lots of reading about #collectiveintelligence, and I'm a big philosophical believer in the power of #community but I don't participate in either online. I don't think platforms like @bsky.app are either of these things, but they're closer than nothing - I'm curious to see how it goes 😊
