I have sworn an oath on the blood of my ancestors not to turn the heating on until December.

Today I may dishonour their memory by succumbing to the sweet promise of a warm hearth granted by the grace of Octopus Energy.

Very good on the legal implications of today's proposals. There's still a lot of missing details.

#dispatch was excellent despite being such a simple game. Fantastic writing.

The romance subplot was superb. I genuinely went back and forth changing my mind at various points in the plot.

And I uhhh, I guess I'm an 8 percenter.

It is fair to say that far too many people have not done enough since the Paris Agreement was signed to reduce their carbon footprints, but it's not fair to say that nothing has been done.

This is cool. Small, self-contained compute leased to run in residential environments as a heating solution.

I love my city. It's beautiful, unique, oozes with music and culture, and I love living here.

Except on match days. Frigging sports fans, man.

I have some genuine empathy here because this does sound toxic, and in line with some of the illiberal tendencies often observed in other parts of the weird left.

I am also still perpetually enjoying the absolute shitshow. They're speedrunning the sort of left-wing infighting and chaos my party […]

This is excellent!

GB Energy has procured the site on Ynys Mon and will be running the project to build initially three, growing to eight, SMR reactors for the site from Rolls Royce. The initial three will supply about half the energy of a traditional nuclear plant — but if all eight get built […]

Lots of people very angry that it seems Reeves is not going to do a thing she never said she'd do and actually promised not to do.

The politico media circlejerk is ridiculous at the moment. It seems somewhere between elderly relatives in a group chat and mystic diviners interpreting hints and […]

One advantage of having trashed my rating this week while being wracked by a cold/flu is that my opponents fall for some really fun stuff at this level.

I like the little game I get to play when a page doesn't load.

- is it NoScript?
- is it uBlock Origin?
- is it just a shit site?
- is it PrivacyBadger?
- is it CookieAutoDeleter?
- is it because of geoblocking?

If it's not NoScript, it's usually geoblocking, and both parts of that are […]

What in the goddamn fuck is wrong with Democrats!?

Tonight I specifically mean those ten in the Senate. The tide had turned, the party finally had momentum, and the perception of the party being weak and feckless was breaking. They could've achieved a huge political victory *and* won extended […]

Article hasn't quite caught up with news alerts, but Tim Davie has now resigned.

It's weird because this edit was kinda normal, and certainly the least of the crimes and follies that have occurred at the Beeb under his stewardship.

I think he sees the writing on the wall with the whistleblower […]

First off, I hate this, "The <whatever> Files," trend.

Second, this is mildly interesting. An IP geoblock of the UK may be good enough for the OSA, but it seems to depend on how it's implemented as a site mirror here that did use the geoblock but could easily be circumvented still falls foul […]

In the latest episode of The Morning Show, in a demonstration of their characteristic approach to writing, one character explains in excruciating detail how Columbia House Record Club worked.

And now a joke in Archer from 2011 suddenly makes sense to me.
