Made a bunch of boxes that turns into a bunk bed stair when they are stacked together. Mostly out of discarded desks♻️.
PS: Each step is within 5mm of difference, the distortion of the lens made them look wonky lol

This captures my vibe pretty well:
-Mint condition 2015 Macbook Pro with protective case
-Cheap tea carelessly resting on the MacBook
-Using a Makita MakPac as a table
-Using a chunk of foam leftover from making my fursuit tail as a seat cushion
-Me sitting on floor, trying to fix the router

I made a splitter thingy (three cats) for this automatic feeder
The compound angle is surprisingly challenging to deal with💀

This ant colony is trying to carry our cats' kibble into the wall🧐
It's very impressive since one single piece of kibble is about 10X of their size, imagine ten adults carrying a car with their bare hands!

I still have this pic saved on my PC😆!!! So happy and proud of y'all😭

Sewing corner ready!🧵
Brain is not ready to learn how to use the sewing machine😵‍💫!

T minus 27 days till furry con😱
So far I got the fur fabrics, the polyfil cotton, the foam, the patterns for the tail and paws on hand.
Got zero progress on the head.
Will try and get a basic sewing spot set up and sew the paws or tail this weeked!💪

Thanks😳!
Mamiya actually made several grips for the RB67, but it's pretty rare and pricey in the second hand market, so I decided to made one myself.
But I later found out there really isn't a need for it😆

The camera has what's called a "waist level viewfinder", and this is how use it.
(I don't want to show my whole body, so here's some pics I found online😝)
January 23, 2025 at 6:49 AM
Why it failed?
1. It's too heavy, and the camera is heavy enough already!🤣
2. The controls are all on your right hand, and your left hand naturally cups like camera like this when you are shooting, so there's no need for a handle. (2/2)

Here's a failed project:
I made this handle for a super heavy camera (Mamiya RB67, ~3KG).
I custom ordered a piece of bent stainless steel. I designed and 3D printed (knife) scales, and attached them on the stainless steel with Chicago screws.

My inkjet printer's black nozzle is clogged🙁
The price for a new nozzle is the same price of the machine, the price for a new ink cartridge is 20% of the machine.
I decided to not get it fixed and not buy a new one, I'll go to print shops from now on. At least the scanner is still functional🙃

I saw this online the day after I finished modelling V1, so you buy them if you need them!
January 21, 2025 at 8:50 PM
Version 2!
I printed V1 in matte PLA, which feels terrible to touch, I think it leave a trace amount of dust on my fingers.
I printed V2 in regular PETG, I added a thin "waist" in the mid section, and it feels much better to touch!

I've been cleaning/decluttering/organizing my room, and I found the Olfa scalpel I used to use a lot!
However, the cap is missing, and the rubber grip is pretty shitty to begin with.
After 1 min of searching and 45min of 3D printing, I have replacement parts now! (links in ALT text)

I 3D printed a small block that fits inside the groove. The block has holes that line up with the hook, and they are a tight fit for the screws.
The block is superglued in. The holes are slightly offset from the holes on the plywood, so the screws also bite into a bit of plywood.
January 19, 2025 at 9:43 PM
This part of the door only has a thin layer of plywood, so the screws have nothing to bite into🥲
(Probably 3mm / 1/8inches thick)

The shelving unit sits besides our living room TV, and it's a "clutter catcher".
I designed and 3D printed a simple envelope/letter rack to sit on top of it. (Ended up looking like a taco holder lol)
January 19, 2025 at 3:37 AM
I made a tiny shelving unit out of recycled plywood sheets🙂 (Sourced from a library bookshelf and a bed frame)
It's quickly put together with pocket holes, but it came out surprisingly study!

Random Rhylo thoughts:
"Benchy", a really popular torture test for 3D printers recently garnered a lot of attention due one of its remix being taken down, and reportedly all remixes will be taken down. (1/2)
January 18, 2025 at 4:14 AM
I turned a length of PVC pipe I have into a poster tube🙂
It's too short for my poster, so I 3D printed a extension, I also printed an end cap.
