After 52 Alaskan winters, I can’t lie, I enjoyed the lack of snow and being able to kayak year-round. And life with epilepsy is so much easier with public transit now! But also not easy to make work and not without headaches or missing home constantly, so it’s complicated. As is life, so 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s quiet and peaceful and people never talk about the disasters at home, which is exactly what I needed. But I was fortunate to have the means and fewer family ties anchoring me at home. Ideally I’ll live between both, but not for now. Wow, do I wish for a Pres. Powers right about now!
