The Alaskan village of Kipnuk was swept away by typhoon flooding this week, in addition to several others. Thousands of Alaskans find themselves without homes as our long winter begins. Here’s a response from an EPA official briefed on the situation. I’m not sure how much more evil they can be.

Relocating countries with just a carry-on suitcase means you really learn what you value and miss at home. My roommate in Alaska mailed me a few things I particularly missed, and sitting here in my 25-year-old fleece sweater that still smells like home is making me incandescent with joy! 😌

The European obsession with adding rocket (arugula to Americans) to dishes you’d not really expect to contain leafy greens continues to charm me. Like… pizza. Or your poached eggs. Definitely a fan, but not sure when it will seem normal and not make me… wha?????

I like that autocorrect has just decided that whatever version of “well” or “we’ll” you’re using, you’re probably wrong, and it’ll help. Hell is both other people and in a similar status.
