people might think creating OC lore involves a lot of thinking & planning, but in my personal experience, OC development is more like a divine vision from a god slamming you over the head with a mallet while ur doing the fuckin dishes or folding laundry

i really feel like people have forgotten that exploring character IS a part of developing a story, even if not much changes from beginning to end of an episode (or comic issue, or whatever), if the audience has learned more about the character or setting, that's meaningful. that's still storytelling
The demonization of the "filler episode" is what is making modern media fall flat. "What does this contribute to the plot?" It contributes character building and fun, what do YOU contribute? (Annoying white noise)
