Some might suggest that it's Murdoch who did the leaving of Enid, but he was content to date her whilst still holding a flame for Dr. Ogden. It was Enid's unwillingness to play second fiddle in Murdoch's heart that ends it.

Enid is great. She's introduced as the anti-Julia: a widow; delicate & domestic; a modest dresser; a mother (let's not forget Murdoch dumped Julia because of her abortion and disinterest in parenthood).

Dr. Ogden remains a true professional at work and stays friendly with Murdoch, even going to his house to patch him up after his big injury. His new squeeze (Enid) shows up unexpectedly, which could be awkward but Dr. Ogden excuses herself with dignity even after Murdoch is a whole turkey about it.

Just casually displaying a man's severed finger after fishing it out of his own stomach, along with his last meal (French cuisine, Dr. Ogden speculates) while poor Crabtree struggles not to lose the contents of his own stomach.
