Equinox swim in the river. Water very low as we have had no rain for 3 weeks. And none today when forecast.

Trying to forget how Ukraine is about to be sold down the river so i went swimming x 2 in the sea in South Devon, off Burgh Island.

Our once-a-year-if-lucky-visitation of starlings to the two great sycamores was a blessing yesterday. Their orchestra of sounds was incredible. Maybe a hundred or more.

First February swim I hoped would be in the sea at Teignmouth ( less cold than the river) but found it was high tide with a swell, splashing passersby on the promenade. Lost my courage and retreated to the river where the cold was knifesharp but no waves or tide to contend with. 🤣

Molly, our new rescue dog, didn't really go for snow though she made the best of it and she certainly hasn't liked getting soaked over and over again but she does like snuggling.
