This whole Mamdani thing is young people versus old people. Like a referendum on whether the Democrats will be a party of life or a party of death.

What badass investigative reporter is going undercover with one of these ICE goon squads? This is, like, THE story right now. Who trains? What rules of engagement? What propaganda do they consume? How do they recruit, and weed out non-sadists? Would they follow orders to shoot regime enemies?

As a deeply entrenched Boomer, I am totally on board with this sentiment. If you also are in your early 70’s and still in think you are in your prime, you are deluding yourself. Offer your wisdom (that long view of history) as you mentor coming generations and relinquish the power!
Wake up Democratic Party old guard establishment. This isn’t about New York City. This is the way the wind is blowing. Step aside for young people who this country will need over the next several decades long after you are gone. Enough with your egos and the big money interests.

And Americans are looking for Democrats who don’t hide behind their values to check the temperature for what they will and won’t fight for, but to change the temperature and remind us all what we deserve.

My good friend of 48 years (and bandmate too!), Rob Rosenthal l, has written a great essay on why college presidents need to show some courage, band together to resist authoritarian demands, defend democracy… or risk losing everything
OPINION: With higher education under siege, college presidents cannot afford to stay silent
Higher education is under siege from the Trump administration. University presidents must band together. If they don’t speak out, what will later generations say when they look back at this dark, dark...

We got a Costco membership for the first time in our lives today. They asked why & I said because treat your workers well, you value diversity, & you didn’t cave in to authoritarian demands. He said: “We’ve been getting lots of folks saying that, thanks for joining.”

My new deep dive on how Trump “won” the popular vote.

I put “won” in quotes because it wasn’t his win, but Harris’s loss. The results were not a “swing right” embracing Trump/MAGA, but a vote of no confidence in Democrats (and in our system as a whole).

Folks: please be diligent about not disseminating Ann Telnaes' cartoon in a way that she's not getting the clicks on it (until she says differently). Her IP matters now more than ever.

Make it go viral but make sure she benefits.
