(3/4) One of our clients, who suffers from end-stage renal disease, missed a dialysis session while detained at the Buffalo ICE jail. As a result, he had to be rushed to Buffalo’s Erie County Medical Center for emergency treatment.

(2/4) The Buffalo Federal Detention Center in Batavia, NY, holds up to 650 people and has no full-time doctor or dentist on-site. It has been operating over capacity for months, with more than 150 people waiting for outside medical care.

(3/5) The rush to hire unvetted people comes after Pres. Trump dismantled the National Law Enforcement Accountability Database (NLEAD). NLEAD was designed to provide a national system to verify whether applicants for law enforcement have a history of serious misconduct in a previous position.
