I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.

Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.
While I love to see the lover's spat as much as anyone, I think it's worth reminding ourselves that this 1) isn't normal 2) is deeply embarrassing and 3) is insane that this is the reality we live in.

We've moved into the looting phase.
Here's where I see the continued downsizing of government agencies leading. First, they reduce staffing until nothing works as intended. Then, they let the crisis continue just long enough so that people forget it was their actions that created it (6-12 months in America). Then they privatize.

Why dismantle agencies that protect all Americans from toxic air, water, and soil? Because following the law is expensive for businesses, and the ultra wealthy will always be able to afford to live in areas where they never have to worry about the environment.

I think it's a real possibility all of these moves by Trump, such as proposing to get rid of FEMA or the department of education, are to make room for privatization of the services. After? Consolidation of more money to the 1%.
