His conclusion is a word of encouragement and a call to action. “The republic can break, but it need not. Those who work against the grifters, who reinforce the reality beyond the bubble, are doing right. They are not only holding back authoritarianism, but giving the republic a chance. ->

A new report by the UNHCR says I was right. Over the past decade, climate-related disasters have displaced 250 million people. That’s 70,000 people every day, or 2 people being displaced every 3 seconds! And the events that lead to this displacement are growing in number as the world warms.

I learned today that Oak Ridge National Lab is pioneering “a combination of experimental microgrids, solar panels, and storage” in Puerto Rico that has already proven to keep the power on when storms knock out the conventional grid.

This way, if a microgrid on one side of the island was knocked out by a future storm, only that microgrid would be blacked out while the rest remained functional. He didn’t do as I requested. I guess I was just 8 years early.

And if you’re a person of color in the USA, you’re going to be hit up by this even harder because of environmental racism. There are particularly high levels of air pollution in Hispanic and Black communities across the country, higher than in nearby white communities.
