i look at flight radar sometimes to marvel at humanity's hubris
a screencapture of https://www.flightradar24.com/-3.81,98.18/2 Flight Radar zoomed out to display the whole planet's air traffic into one image with thousands of little yellow airplanes in indulating ribbons and speckle-distributed clusters then if you zoom in the sheer volume of aircraft will resolve itself to you. from one seater personal helicopters to 100-seat regional bus-style planes to those sci-fi-style transcontinental fixed wing aircraft with personal rooms and bars and shit. we never stop moving. sometimes i have flashbacks to watching the matrix for the first time and having that internal conflict of agreeing with agent smith when he calls us a disease when he's kind of an infection too but damn look at all those aircraft. millions of us probably zipping around up there. expelling pretty extensive carbon emissions. gross.

A sky from a balcony in caversham. Facing north north east maybe. An hour until sunset, low cloud, with a slight northerly. Warm air holds up the moistness so it can't fall but it can flow like rivers or crash as waves, a blue to yellow to violet painterly flourish with the shape of invisible winds. Ngā hau? I think the te reo māori word is ngā hau. A police siren intruder. The birds continue to call green from the trees into our eyes.

I enjoy the wee flowers at bars and cafés. This is at Woof! in Ōtepoti. I was drinking a Fire Sign cocktail and reading Dominic Hoey's 1985. Then I went to the supermarket and felt suddenly hammered. I bought brioche loaf and two bags of chips. A+, recommend.
