🔄 On Wednesday, the Lord Chancellor has announced changes to prison recall rules via an expansion of the used of short ‘fixed-term’ recalls for people on sentences of 1 to 4 years.

Revolving Doors joins the Howard League in condemning the decision to use PAVA spray in young offenders' institutes.

To meaningfully manage youth offending, the complex unmet needs faced by the majority of these young people must be addressed - further violence will not break the cycle.

⛔ The Lord Chancellor’s decision to block the Sentencing Council’s guidance on pre-sentence reports is a deliberate step backwards.

Blocking progress is not about fairness, it’s about maintaining a status quo that already fails too many.
