I did actually finish my oversized 3d printed #Gunpla! It was a lot of fun and I love it. Definitely want to do more.

My next cosplay project has a great start! I've settled on a Clan Wren Mandalorian and I'm so excited with how well the helmet printed! #cosplay #starwars #mandalorian

My Gundam is coming along well but the minor inconsistencies in printed pieces means some of the parts are loose and I'm trying to figure out how to fix that without reprinting or glue. If anyone has suggestions I'm up for learning. #Gundam #gunpla #3dprinting

Man, we had so much fun... I get a little teary eyed thinking about it.
August 27, 2025 at 2:19 AM
The parts aren't specifically designed to be easy to print so it's been quite a process to get them all printed.

After a couple failed attempts, my first piece is printed and it looks great!

I'm hoping to get some great pieces because the other 3 I've seen printed seemed sub par so I really want to take my time and get good pieces to work with.

I'm using thin layers to minimize layer lines.

I'm documenting the first day of this project because I'm curious how long it will take. I'm printing my first Gunpla... But at 300% size!

Seen a few others print this but at kind of poor quality, so I'm hoping to get a better quality print to prove to myself 3D printed Gunpla is worth it!

I was on the fence about this title till I saw @gailsimone.bsky.social wrote it, then it wasn't even a question. Great start! Best Rebel Moon title yet!

I've got my Vos armor almost done. I'm working on a way to latch the two halves together. Right now I'm working with this.

If anyone else has any suggestions on a better way to latch this together, please let me know. I'm gonna roll with this for now though. #3dprinting #StarWars #cosplay

Getting ready for my Quinlan Vos cosplay! Found this great one on Thingiverse, but needed to modify it to have a ring on the end to attach it to my belt. I'll see if I can upload the remix later. #3DPrinting #StarWars #cosplay

My new project came in the mail today. It's a 1984 Kenner Ecto 1. I should have taken some before photos because it looked like it'd been sitting in a barn since the 80s.

Should be a fun restoration project!

My pants are done! My TOS Kirk is complete! Super excited to meet Mr. Shatner in this! #startrek #cosplay

I have to do a couple adjustments but the Pizza Thrower base turned out cool! I started the project because I couldn't find a model so I had to make it myself. I'll share it soon as it's done so no one else has that problem.

Making it whole again!

Absolutely floored by this "blink and you'll miss it" Star Trek reference in Dragonball Z!

One of the reporters helicopters in the Saiyan saga looks alot like an Enterprise shuttle from TNG and has the tag "NCC-1701-A" on it!

Was floored when I saw that this time!

Yeeeeeeesssss. This turned out way better than I thought it would. I modified a chest armor made for Anakin. But it wouldn't be Quinlan's without the triangle at the top so I was able to modify it to match Vos's and it really looks like it belongs there!

It's starting off so well!

You can just export the whole thing as an STL, but I like to create a single object just to allow no interpretation from the script.

I apply the Boolean modifier, then add a new Boolean modifier to Union the two objects. This makes it one solid piece. Now it can be exported as an STL for printing!

Tada! Easy peasy. This is not printable but it looks cool :)

I'm going to duplicate the pauldron and then enlarge it just a bit. Then add a Boolean modifier to the symbol that is set to Intersect.
June 7, 2025 at 1:46 AM
Want to position the symbol so it goes all the way through the pauldron.

Tab to edit mode, A to select all, E to extrude and make it 3D. I'm making it pretty big to have some room to work with.

Just import the SVG and convert it to Mesh
