I’m the editor of @retrogamermag.bsky.social and a collector of far, far too many things, from retro games, to trading cards and 1/6 and 1/12 action figures. He/him, autistic.
I saw that. Lost count of the Spider-men they have released now.

Absolutely, it’s aged but has lots of cool ideas.

That’s a blast from the past.

When I say giving up, I simply mean all my personal gaming is now on the steam deck. I use the other systems purely for work purposes. I’ve stopped buying physical Switch games as I can pick them up for pennies on Steam.
Having over 1,500 steam games is a big reason too.

That’s a good point. The Steam Deck has really impressed me with what it can run based on its specs, so I reckon the new system will over perform-as well.

No one really needs any system like this. Still want it though.

I think lots of people have autistic traits, it's when you have multiple and some of them cause you genuinely life difficulties that it's probably worth looking into more.

That was my concern, but I'm glad I took the plunge. I feel a lot better in myself now.

My general understanding is that people who aren’t ASD generally don’t wonder if they are. I only picked up on it because I shared so many traits with my daughter that it was difficult for me to ignore.

Thanks so much for sharing. Yes, the knowing and understanding definitely overrides the negativity. I'm in such a better place now than I've ever been.

4) I'm certainly not looking for pity here, just understanding.
If anyone has been through a similar experience it would be interesting to hear about it and how it made you better understand yourself.

The best emotion by far though is relief
I finally understand why I do the things I do and why certain things can be such a momentous challenge for me. I finally know why I throw myself into things and why I often struggle to let things go. It's made me find a peace with myself that I never knew.

Sadness, thinking of the lost relationships, work opportunities and various other things I've missed out on because of my 'attitude'/'bluntness'

I spend weeks after my diagnosis hardly sleeping as I was replaying countless past scenarios from my life over and over in my head. It wasn't fun.

Yeah, a nice quirk that it’s in both those issues. Both by @gamesblackhole.bsky.social as well.

Ooh. That was one of the many times I've sneaked onto the cover (in Avatar form for that one).
