I’ve been to see his statue in Aberdeen several times, as well as the Trinity one - just the Stretford End one to get to now!

Here’s one final photo to round off our Duncan Edwards day - the man as I’m sure he’d wish to be remembered, on a football pitch and doing what he loved to do.

It’s such a genuine shame that United, England and the world were robbed of what might - and more than likely would - have been.

A rare picture of Duncan Edwards on holiday in Jersey, taken by his good friend and team mate Gordon Clayton. They were both 17 at the time, and this was their end of season holiday in 1954.

66 years ago today, a full 15 days after Munich, Duncan Edwards finally succumbed to his injuries and passed away aged just 21.

Many who watched him, including Jimmy Murphy and Sir Bobby Charlton, said he was United’s greatest ever player.

Today we pay our respects to Duncan, taken far too soon.
