City won’t be having this. Perhaps they can challenge the legality of five defeats in a row? Maybe if they send a letter asking a few other clubs to back them they can get the rules retrospectively changed so none of this counts?

It’s such a genuine shame that United, England and the world were robbed of what might - and more than likely would - have been.

Many who watched him, including Jimmy Murphy and Sir Bobby Charlton, said he was United’s greatest ever player.
