When I was a federal contractor during govt shutdowns my OOO message was ‘due to a lapse in funding the office is closed until further notice. Please leave a message & when we return your call or email will be answered.’ While sitting at home I’d contact my representatives & express my opinion

If I was the contractor I’d stop & demand payment for the work completed & demand a 50% down payment for the rest of the job.
