Retired after 40+ years of federal service (USAF & Federal contractor). Stationed in UK & West Germany, watched the Berlin Wall come down live on TV; watched the reunification also on TV, saw fireworks on TV but my small German town was totally silent.
Did a little research & according to Yahoo news this was the FIRST time SNAP was suspended during ANY previous government shutdown. So the GOP weaponized SNAP to cause the most pain to, unsurprisingly, ALL recipients regardless of party..wonder who came up with that idea..Stephen Miller anyone?

The GOP & media did a great job in moving the needle by publicizing the hurt & pain people are going through with this shut down. Dems expectations about the GOP coming to the table are pipe dreams. So the Dems must hammer the GOP when 2026 arrives & nothing has changed in the ACA extensions.

Looks like the Senate bill will pass with Dem support…. Fucking Cowards…. Hopefully those Dems who voted Yes are not up for reelection, if so they should be primaried. Listening to Sen Hassan now justifying her Yes vote. I’ll still vote Democrat up & down the 2026 elections.

Just remember, it was the GOP & Trump who decided to not fund SNAP, close airports, because they are in control not the Democrats. Remember that in 2026 regardless of how this turns out.

MSNBC’s David Frost Vs…Nixon… a must watch…I realized Trump is Nixon on steroids…Nixon resigned because Congress had the guts to impeach him for his illegal acts..the GOP has put Trump over the Constitution, their voters…I doubt the GOP will rebel because they are cowards.
