I understand we'll never get it, but I yearn for more games like SMRPG. The Paper Mario games are fun, but just not the same.

"realism" in game mechanics isn't always better, but sometimes giving the player somewhat realistic consequences for the choices they make is actually the best and most fun way of motivating the player to engage with a mechanic!

Growing up, I knew a guy who had a pet bear. He was also the guy who ran the local diner. The bear legally attended the gas station, so people could pump their own gas.

West Coast Seafood, which looks like a new Crab and Fish distributor trying to get into storage and processing; This feels like it might be a trap though. (IDK anything about Newport, but Gresham is full of rotating tenants trying to make it, and landlords not giving a shit)

I'm going to blame tourism rents. They've got a premium building, and The Oregonian article says the distillery is already re-rented out. $545k in back rent for them seems like chump change though? I do hope we get more info.

Them being local does a lot of marketing for them, I think it's mostly surprising because they have such a big presence locally.

And one other thing: we’re being told that AI is the only way to make games cheaper and faster, to pull us from this precipice of production nightmares the industry has found itself in. That it’s necessary.

We put out roughly 3 motherfucking games a year, not touching the stuff.
Skill issue.

The people who will most profit from this quality and connection-sapping technology being assumed to be inevitable, want you to give up on pushing against it today, by believing that fight is already over.

Don’t give in.
Don’t be fooled.
Don’t accept the thing already making our medium worse.
