That's me next to Tower 43B somewhere in north-eastern Thailand.

You get a sense of scale standing next to these structures. A rough estimate puts my height at 1.3% of the tower but only 0.03% of the weight. Further, if you compare me to the weight of the base, that's only 0.005% 😲 20,000:1 ratio

Some great news for the Australian Federal Government's "Cheaper Home Batteries" program - and a little bit of bad news in the fine print.

If you're a property owner in Melbourne, the single best (and cost effective) way to improve the resale value is to electrify your home.

Research by property website Domain has documented that EE homes have a median price premium of $197,000 (23.8%) in that market

A Kiwi's take on "Vehicle to Grid".

It can (and has been) equally useful in Australia during times of emergency, when the grid fails us. If you're contemplating an EV make sure that it's V2G or V2H enabled. ⚡

A US review of the Xiaomi SU7 where it is NOT available. Nor is it likely to be under the current administration.

In China it sells for CNY ¥299,000 - equivalent to aprx AUD $63,700. Expect to see the LH drive versions released in Europe in 2027.

If you've got an EV & solar panels on your roof, you're probably wondering: can I actually power my car with sunshine? The short answer is YES: www.amber.com.au/blog/solar-e...

Amber Electric's "wholesale price" business model is great if you have a home battery. But it can be risky if you don't.

Another fact-checking video, this time by the ABC which looked into Sussan Ley's claim about high power prices.

Don't let the fossil fuel industry get away with the lies that rising prices are solely because of the transition to renewables.

It's not the renewables that are behind escalating energy prices in Australia. It's coal & gas. 💰

Renewables are part of the solution, not the problem.

EV's in Australia are about to take another quantum leap forward in the 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 stakes with BYD's release early in 2026 of the first sub-$25K nifty-looking Atto 1 model.

This new car could make owning an electric vehicle a lot cheaper
Electric cars are expected to crash through another price barrier in Australia with one brand to release an EV for less than $25,000.

In 1980, I was an early Aussie solar adopter. Those HW panels paid for themselves in 3 yrs & ran for almost 40. I've been obsessed with renewable-energy and its potential ever since.

Now I'm transitioning to retirement; much like our fossil-fuel based energy system should be.
