It's a weird thing to be hyperfocused on the future and trying to control every outcome. I spent so much energy doing so earlier in my life instead of just seeing where I stand now. There are amazing things right at your feet, but you have to be present to appreciate them.

I found a love for cooking after cancer. I'd avoid talking about it usually, but I saw an episode of Hells Kitchen where a chef had survived cancer, too. It inspired me, and I realized I should not hide from it. Something amazing came from something terrible.

I watched these Canada Geese flow with the river current and then stop here in the shallow to sunbathe on rocks. Black Capped Chickadees chirped behind me while eating wild winter berries. It felt like maybe spring is a little closer.

I made sesame chicken and veggie fried rice. I used an air fryer for the chicken. A trick I have found is to use a 50/50 blend of flour and corn starch in the dredge. Really helps get a nice "fried" texture without deep frying.
